Accessing a prescription for medicinal cannabis in WA:
Like all other states, in order to get a prescription for medicinal cannabis, you need to see a health professional. As a resident of WA you may go to a local clinic in person or via telehealth or you may see a practitioner anywhere in the country via telehealth. Each clinic has its own requirements related to referrals, whether they may prescribe product(s) from the entire range available or limit their practitioners, whether you'll be given your prescription or locked into their system and a few other things. Please remember that if you find a clinic that has a very low or free consultation fee, there are usually strings attached.
I have a prescription, where/how can I get it dispensed?
WA laws state that WA pharmacies may only dispense medicinal cannabis prescriptions of patients whose practitioners are physically located (and registered) in WA. So, if you've seen a doctor in another state, you will need to order your medication from a non-WA pharmacy. If you're not sure where to order from and you have an eScript, you can visit https://scripts.honahlee.com.au to find pharmacies and order your medication for delivery or pickup.
